Antonio Conte faces Harry Kane dilemma ahead of trip to Crystal Palace as Tottenham striker walks suspension tightrope before north London derby with Arsenal

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is at risk of missing the upcoming north London derby through suspension.

The England skipper has accumulated four yellow cards and if he picks up another booking against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, he will miss the showdown with leaders Arsenal on January 15.

The north London duo are encountering contrasting fortunes at present with Spurs having lost three of their last four home league games and the Gunners seven points clear at the top of the table.

With Spurs looking to get their season back on track and the added bonus of dealing Arsenal’s title hopes a huge blow, Kane’s presence will be key against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Kane is set to feature against the Eagles despite a suspension hanging over him as Spurs are counting the cost of injuries to their attacking players.

Richarlison is still sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury during his World Cup exploits with Brazil while Dejan Kulusevski could once again be missing after sitting out Sunday’s defeat against Aston Villa with an ankle problem.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte could opt to manage Kane’s game time at Selhurst Park should his side find themselves in a commanding position.

The Italian will definitely have it in the back of his mind to preserve him ahead of Arsenal’s visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Meanwhile, Conte will be without the injured Rodrigo Bentacur for Wednesday’s clash meaning Oliver Skipp or Pape Matar Sarr could partner Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in midfield.

Yves Bissouma will be unavailable through suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

A win for Spurs could see them return to the top four after slipping down the table with a below-par festive period where they picked up just one point from two games against Brentford and Aston Villa.

Antonio Conte could choose to manage Kane’s game time at Selhurst Park.

Harry Kane would be a huge miss for Spurs against Arsenal later this month.
