Lloris in the history of France: he is about to equal Thuram's record


France, Hugo Lloris is about to make the history of the national team: against Poland he will equal a historic record

France will face Poland in the third-of-eighth of the World Cup in Qatar . The match, scheduled for 16:00 (Italian time) at the Al Thumama Stadium, will be especially special for Hugo Lloris , goalkeeper of the French national team. Indeed, the 35-year-old will match Lilian Thuram 's record for appearances in Poland .

The Tottenham fullback will thus enter the history of the French national team by becoming the player with the most appearances together with the former Parma and Juventus defender. In the event of qualification and barring no injury or disqualification, Lloris could take the lone throne in the event of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

At the moment Thuram leads the special standings with 142 total appearances , while Lloris is behind with 141 . The goalkeeper also commented on the goal in the classic press conference on the eve together with Deschamps.

“ I am very honored by these figures, very proud , even if on the eve of a World Cup eighth-final it is a secondary goal. In my eyes, the World Cup comes first. Against Poland it will be a new battle, we will need all our strength. Their collective enjoys defending and suffering .”
