The morning of this Thursday opened with a weighty indiscretion: Cristiano Ronaldo away from Qatar 2022, but Portugal immediately denied it

The FPF clarifies that at no point did national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo threaten to quit the national team during his campaign in Qatar.

Indeed, the level of commitment of Portugal's most successful player was once again demonstrated - if any were needed - in the victory against Switzerland in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup.

The national team - players, coaches and FPF staff - are, as from day one, fully committed and enthusiastic in building what the country wants to be Portugal's best ever participation in a World Cup . "
