The announcement came via an official UEFA statement, which read: "The First Chamber of the CFCB (Club Financial Control Body) today opened a formal investigation against Juventus FC for potential violations of licensing rules for club and financial fair play The investigation by the First Chamber of the CFCB will focus on the alleged financial violations recently made public following the proceedings conducted by Consob and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Turin.
On 23 August 2022, the CFCB First Section concluded a settlement agreement with Juventus FC . This settlement agreement has been concluded on the basis of the financial information previously presented by the Company relating to the financial years ended in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022."
The press release then continues: "In the event that, after the conclusion of this investigation, the financial situation of the club is significantly different from that assessed by the First Section of the CFCB at the time of the conclusion of the settlement agreement, or if facts emerge or become known new and substantial changes, the CFCB First Section reserves the right to terminate the settlement agreement, take any legal action it deems appropriate and impose disciplinary measures in accordance with the applicable UEFA CFCB Rules of Procedure.
The CFCB First Chamber will co-operate with domestic authorities and will not issue further comments on the matter while the investigation is ongoing," the statement concluded.
