Bukayo Saka reveals he messaged Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus after finding out Brazil star will miss rest of World Cup and set for lengthy absence with knee injury

Bukayo Saka has sent his well wishes to Gabriel Jesus amid news that his injury could keep him sidelined for some time.

The Arsenal striker will miss the rest of Brazil’s World Cup in Qatar after sustaining a knee injury.

The 25-year-old has appeared in all of Brazil’s game so far in the tournament and started in their 1-0 loss to Cameroon.

However, he was substituted in the second half and soon complained of pain in his knee, with it soon being confirmed that he will be unable to feature throughout the rest of the tournament.

There are fears that he could miss up to three months with the injury and may need surgery.

Fellow Gunners star Saka has now revealed he has contacted the forward given the news, an expressed his concern over the injury.

“He’s a very, very, very important player for us [Arsenal] and it’s not good to hear the news,” he said to the media on Monday.

“Obviously I’ve messaged him and I think he’s going to see the doctor and see what he needs to do for the next steps.

“It’s definitely not good news when I heard that.”

Saka and Jesus have, individually, had very different World Cup campaigns thus far.

The latter failed to net in the tournament before his injury, whilst Saka added to his tally against Senegal on Sunday night.

He scored England’s third goal against the African Cup of Nations holders, with the Three Lions progressing to the quarter-finals.

France will be their opponents on Saturday night as Gareth Southgate’s side eye a spot in the semi-finals for the second tournament in a row.
