Pele’s admission into hospital is ‘no emergency’, his daughter has confirmed on social media.
The Brazil and World Cup legend, 82, is battling cancer and was reported to have been sent to hospital due to his condition ‘worsening’.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, with Pele admitted so medical staff could regulate his medication.
Writing on Instagram, Pele’s daughter Kely Nascimento said: “Hi my friends. Lots of alarm in the media today concerning my dad’s health.
“He is in the hospital regulating medication. Some of my siblings are visiting Brazil.
“There is no emergency or new dire prediction.
“I will be there for New Years and promise to post some pictures.
“Really and truly, we appreciate the concern and love!!”
Pele is widely considered to be one of the greatest footballers of all-time, scoring 1,000 career goals and winning the World Cup three times.
As well as his current battle with cancer, he has under gone hip surgery in recent years which left him with recurring pain and trouble walking.
As his cancer treatment continues, football fans around the world will continue to pray that the legendary figure gets better soon.
