Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn hypes Tottenham striker Harry Kane as German giants consider ‘many, many players’ in transfer window
Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has heaped praise upon Tottenham striker Harry Kane amid their interest in signing the Premier League star.
The Bundesliga giants lost star forward Robert Lewandowski in the summer, and could now be searching for his replacement ahead of next summer.
Kane has been at Tottenham since 2009 and once he broke into the first-team, was quick to emerge as one of the best strikers on the planet.
Despite being at the club for so long, recent summers have seen him linked with a move away from north London, with Manchester City pursuing his signature in 2021.
He could still potentially leave the club in the coming months though, with Bayern’s CEO sharing his admiration for the 29-year-old.
Speaking to Sky Germany via 90min, Kahn said: “Of course, he’s a very good player, but there are also many other very good players.
“I’ve read that everywhere – Oliver Kahn and Harry Kane, Hasan [Salihamidzic, sporting director] and Harry Kane.
“We’re considering many, many players and it’s not okay to talk about players who are under contract at other clubs. Once again: We have a very good squad that is doing an excellent job at the moment.”
Kane has netted 261 goals in 408 appearances for Spurs, but is yet to win a major trophy with them.
The forward is also captain of the England side, who will be hoping to go all the way at the World Cup in Qatar this year.
He is set to go down as one of the best strikers to grace the Premier League as he chases Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals, currently sitting third in the all-time list on 195.
